La Paws London provides in-home pet care for dog owners across London. We're growing and looking for an experienced, reliable pet sitter to join us ahead of a busy summer season.
About the role
You'll be caring for dogs in clients' own homes, maintaining their established routines and providing attentive, one-to-one care. Placements are live-in, which means you'll be based at the client's property for the duration of each booking, with the flexibility to leave the pet for up 3 - 4h where appropriate. Our clients are based in SW, SE and Central London.
Each placement involves one dog only. We do not place carers in multi-pet households.
Important: this role is open to individuals only. We are not able to accommodate applicants who would bring guests, partners, or visitors to the client's property. Clients' homes are private residences and must be treated as such — no visitors of any kind are permitted during a placement.
What we're looking for
- Genuine professional experience in animal care — kennel work, dog training, veterinary support, dog walking, or a similar role. A personal love of dogs is great, but professional experience is essential.
- Current Canine First Aid certification
- DBS certificate, or willingness to obtain one before your first booking
- Confidence handling medium and large breeds, including dogs with high energy levels
- Solid lead-handling skills in an urban environment
- The reliability to follow strict daily routines as set by the client
- Professionalism and respect for clients' homes and house rules at all times
Who this suits
This works well for those with remote or flexible working arrangements, provided the dog's schedule always comes first. You'll be expected to be present and engaged.
Requirements – work status
- You must have the right to work in the UK. We do not offer sponsorship of any kind.
- This is a self-employed, freelance arrangement. You will be responsible for your own tax affairs.
- You must be able to issue invoices and either hold a UTR (Unique Taxpayer Reference) number already or be willing to register as self-employed and obtain one before your first booking.
