Overview
Full-Time | Long-Term Position | Excellent Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Working Decorating Supervisor / Foreman to join our team and take responsibility for the quality and day-to-day management of our decorating works.
We have a busy and growing workload across a range of properties and projects, with a significant amount of ongoing decorating work available for our growing team.
The biggest priority for this role is quality. We need someone who takes pride in their work, has an excellent eye for detail and can help bring the standard of the whole decorating team up to the level we expect.
This is a hands-on position. You will be expected to work alongside the decorators, while also supervising jobs, checking workmanship and making sure work is completed properly before it is signed off.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and organise decorators across multiple jobs
- Work hands-on alongside the team where required
- Set the standard for preparation, finishing and attention to detail
- Inspect work throughout the job rather than waiting until completion
- Identify any defects if applicable and ensure it is corrected
- Train, guide and support decorators to align standards with expectations
- Plan labour and ensure jobs are progressing efficiently
- Make sure materials and equipment are organised
- Liaise with management and other trades on site
- Take ownership of decorating jobs from start through to completion
- Ensure properties are left clean, tidy and finished to a professional standard
What We’re Looking For
You must be an experienced painter and decorator yourself, with a strong understanding of what a genuinely good finish looks like.
We’re looking for somebody who is:
- Highly experienced in painting and decorating
- Extremely particular about preparation and finish
- Confident managing and correcting other decorators
- Comfortable having difficult conversations if/when standards aren’t good enough
- Organised and able to manage several jobs
- Reliable and professional
- Able to lead by example
- Focused on both quality and productivity
- Someone who takes real pride in the finished job
Previous supervisory or foreman experience would be beneficial, but we’re equally interested in an experienced decorator who has the right attitude and is ready to step up into a leadership role.
The Opportunity
There is a lot of decorating work available, and potentially considerably more as we grow this side of the business.
You will be provided with a company branded van and fuel card.
We want someone who can come in, take ownership of the decorating team and help us build a reliable operation known for consistently high-quality work.
For the right person, this is intended to be a long-term position with genuine responsibility and opportunity to grow with us.
- To apply, please send details of your decorating experience, any supervisory experience and a brief overview of the types of projects you have worked on.
