Luke 9:48 Homes is looking for an experienced, passionate and committed Registered Manager to lead our children's home in Maidstone, Kent.
This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious manager who wants to play a key role in creating a home where children and young people feel safe, valued, supported and able to thrive.
As Registered Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the day-to-day management of the home, ensuring that children receive outstanding care and that the home operates in line with relevant legislation, regulations and quality standards.
About the role
You will be responsible for the overall leadership and management of the home, working closely with the Responsible Individual and wider leadership team.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Taking overall responsibility for the day-to-day running of the home.
- Ensuring the home provides a safe, nurturing and supportive environment.
- Promoting the welfare, development and positive outcomes of every young person.
- Leading, motivating and developing the staff team.
- Ensuring staff receive appropriate supervision, training and support.
- Managing recruitment, induction and ongoing development of staff.
- Ensuring appropriate staffing levels and effective shift planning.
- Maintaining high standards of safeguarding and child protection.
- Ensuring care plans, risk assessments and behaviour support plans are implemented effectively.
- Monitoring the quality of care provided and identifying areas for improvement.
- Maintaining accurate records and ensuring all required documentation is completed.
- Working effectively with social workers, placing authorities, education providers, health professionals and other agencies.
- Maintaining strong relationships with families and professionals where appropriate.
- Preparing for and responding to Ofsted inspections.
- Ensuring the home remains compliant with relevant legislation, regulations and standards.
- Managing incidents, complaints and safeguarding concerns appropriately.
- Monitoring the home's performance and implementing improvement plans where required.
- Managing budgets and resources responsibly.
- Creating a positive culture where staff feel supported, accountable and motivated.

Previous experience in a Registered Manager or senior management position within children's residential care is highly desirable.
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the skills, experience and suitability required to lead a children's home and meet the relevant regulatory requirements.
