We are seeking a freelance seamstress with excellent hand-finishing skills to support our small-batch knitwear production.
The role includes:
- Handsewing brand labels, fastenings (such as hook & eyes, buttons), and other fine finishing details
- Hand sewing yarn ends
- Machine sewing care/composition labels, size pips, and zippers
- Ironing and steaming garments to a high standard
- Packing finished garments and preparing orders
- Carrying out quality control checks to ensure consistency and finish standards across production
Requirements:
- Strong experience in both hand sewing and machine sewing
- Excellent attention to detail and consistency
- Comfortable working with fine knitwear and delicate materials
- Previous knitwear experience preferred, but knitwear specialisation is not essential
- Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently
- Must be London-based and able to travel to work from our studio at least 3 days per week
This is freelance work on an ad hoc basis, with flexible hours depending on production needs.
