Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced CAD/BIM/Revit Automation Specialist with 5 to 6 years of hands-on industry experience to join our team. The ideal candidate isn't just an operator, but an expert user who understands how these tools function under the hood. A technical specialist who combines expert-level drafting/modelling skills with a passion for process automation.
You will be responsible for creating high-performance models, setting up parametric asset libraries, extracting data properties/attributes,automating repetitive tasks, building robust templates and building custom scripts to automate our core Revit and AutoCAD workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Hands-on BIM/CAD Production: Create, manage, and audit high-quality models and drawings in Revit and AutoCAD following industry and project standards.
- Workflow & Task Automation: Develop scripts and routines (e.g., via Dynamo, AutoLISP, or Python) to automate repetitive modelling, drafting, and data extraction tasks in AutoCAD and Revit.
- Data & Property Extraction: Extract, organise, and export dynamic object properties, attributes, and parameters into structured formats (e.g., Schedules, Excel, CSV) for downstream usage.
- Template & Content Creation: Build and maintain standardised Revit project templates, family libraries, dynamic blocks, lookup tables, and sheet sets to streamline team-wide production.
- Standards & Optimisation: Ensure strict adherence to BIM/CAD standards, troubleshoot complex software/model issues, and optimise model performance for large-scale projects.
Experience & Technical Expertise
- 5 to 6 years of proven professional experience working directly with Revit and AutoCAD in an AEC (Architecture, Engineering, Construction) environment.
- Deep Tool Mastery: Deep, practical understanding of how Revit and AutoCAD operate under the hood, beyond basic drafting or modelling.
- Automation Proficiency: Proven capability using Dynamo (for Revit) and/or AutoLISP / Action Macros (for AutoCAD). Experience with Python or C# / Revit API is a strong plus.
- Advanced Content Creation: Expertise in creating complex, parametric Revit Families, shared/project parameters, and advanced AutoCAD Dynamic Blocks with custom lookup tables and attributes.
- Data Management: Strong skills in setting up parameters, schedules, and data extraction routines to cleanly pull model metadata.
Core Competencies
- Strong problem-solving mindset with a passion for process improvement and efficiency.
- High attention to detail regarding drafting/modeling accuracy and standard adherence.
- Excellent communication skills to document workflows and collaborate with project teams.
