Amber Buildings Ltd is seeking an experienced and motivated Construction Foreman/Site Manager to oversee and support the delivery of an exciting construction project in the Flintshire area.
This is a part-time opportunity for approximately 9 months and is available either as a fixed-term PAYE.
The role is ideally suited to an experienced Construction Foreman or Site Supervisor looking for a flexible, part-time position. It may particularly appeal to someone approaching retirement or already retired who wishes to remain involved in the construction industry while enjoying a better work-life balance.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day running of the construction site, ensuring work is carried out safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
- Coordinate, supervise and negotiate with contractors and subcontractors.
- Ensure works are completed in accordance with current Building Regulations, recognised construction standards and project specifications.
- Promote and maintain the highest standards of Health & Safety on site.
- Liaise with project managers, architects, Building Control, consultants and other stakeholders.
- Identify and resolve site issues proactively to minimise delays.
- Monitor the quality of workmanship throughout all stages of construction.
- Assist in keeping the project on programme and within budget.
- Ensure site records and documentation are maintained where required.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 10 years' experience as a Construction Foreman, Site Supervisor or in a similar construction management role.
- Proven experience in either residential house building or commercial construction.
- Excellent understanding of UK Building Regulations, construction methods and recognised industry standards.
- Strong working knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and best practice.
- Experience managing and coordinating multiple contractors and trades.
- Excellent communication, organisational and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and solve problems effectively.
- Flexible approach to working hours to meet the needs of the project.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
Preferred Qualification
Applicants should ideally hold:
- SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme)
Desirable Qualifications
The following qualifications or accreditations would also be advantageous:
- CSCS Gold or Black Card
- First Aid at Work
- NVQ Level 4 (or above) in Construction Site Supervision or Construction Management
Equivalent qualifications together with substantial industry experience will also be considered.
