Driver/Warehouse/Trade Counter Operative
Job Summary
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking individual to join our team as a Driver / Warehouse Operative with Trade Counter responsibilities. This is a varied role involving deliveries, warehouse duties, and direct customer interaction at the trade counter. The ideal candidate will have strong organisational skills, a customer-focused attitude, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Driving Duties

Deliver goods to customers safely and on time

Load and unload delivery vehicles

Plan routes efficiently and ensure timely deliveries

Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any issues

Maintain accurate delivery records and obtain customer signatures
Warehouse Duties

Receive, check, and store incoming deliveries

Pick, pack, and prepare orders for dispatch

Maintain a clean, organised, and safe warehouse environment

Conduct regular stock checks and assist with inventory control

Operate warehouse equipment (e.g. pallet trucks, forklifts if licensed)
Sales Counter Duties

Serve customers at the trade counter in a friendly and professional manner

Process sales orders, payments, and returns

Provide product information and basic technical advice

Promote products and upsell where appropriate

Handle customer queries and resolve issues efficiently
Skills & Experience Required

Valid clean UK driving licence (essential)

Previous experience in a driving and/or warehouse role

Experience working on a sales or trade counter (preferred)

Good communication and customer service skills
-
Basic IT skills for order processing systems

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Good level of physical fitness (manual handling required)
Desirable

Forklift licence (Counterbalance)

Knowledge of products relevant to the industry (e.g. building supplies, electrical, plumbing, etc.)

Experience using stock management systems
