About the Role
We're growing — and it's time to bring in someone to take the day-to-day running of the workshop off our plate.
Vansco's workshop supports our hire fleet and van sales business. This isn't a customer-facing role in the traditional sense, but you will liaise with our sales team on prep progress and occasionally arrange warranty claims and dates directly with customers.
You'll be taking on a workshop that's currently a blank canvas — a real opportunity to build and implement your own procedures, drive down costs, and improve productivity, rather than inheriting someone else's system.
What You'll Be Doing
- Managing the workshop and leading our team of 4 full-time technicians
- Allocating jobs to technicians based on skill mix and priority
- Ensuring every van sold or hired out is prepped to a high standard
- Keeping vehicle prep costs and turnaround times under control
- Liaising with the sales team on prep progress and timelines
- Arranging warranty claims and dates with customers where required
- Getting hands-on with mechanical work yourself when the workshop needs it
- Monitoring staff and workshop performance, and resolving queries in line with manufacturer guidelines
Pay & Bonus Structure
- Basic salary: £48,000 per year
- Performance bonus: £10,000 + per year, based on:
- Cost per vehicle prep kept at or below target
- Vehicle prep turnaround time kept at or below target
- Aftersales/warranty return rate kept below 25%

What We're Looking For
- Proven experience managing a workshop and leading a team
- Strong technical/mechanical background — happy to get hands-on when needed
- A strong, organised character who can build processes from scratch
- Comfortable managing budgets, costs, and supplier/parts decisions
- Full UK Driving Licence (required)
