Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Team Leader to oversee daily kitchen operations within our busy hospitality environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary experience, and a passion for food safety and quality. This role offers an excellent opportunity to lead a dynamic team, ensure high standards of food production, and contribute to delivering exceptional dining experiences. The Kitchen Team Leader will be responsible for supervising kitchen staff, managing food preparation, and maintaining a safe and efficient working environment.
Duties
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff, ensuring smooth daily operations
- Oversee food production processes, maintaining high standards of quality and presentation
- Lead food preparation and cooking activities, ensuring adherence to recipes and portion controls
- Manage team schedules, delegate tasks effectively, and motivate staff to achieve performance goals
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times
- Assist in training new team members on kitchen procedures, safety protocols, and customer service standards
- Monitor inventory levels, place orders for supplies, and manage stock rotation to minimise waste
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen area in accordance with health regulations
Qualifications
- Proven supervising experience within a busy kitchen or hospitality environment
- Strong background in food production, culinary techniques, and food preparation
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with excellent team management skills
- Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in hygiene management
- Experience working in a restaurant or similar hospitality setting is highly desirable
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure whilst maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate and lead a diverse team
- Previous experience in cooking, serving, or hospitality roles is advantageous but not essential

Annual salary £37700 per year + TIPS
