About the Role
We're looking for a confident, calm communicator to join our operations team as a Day Operator on a 4-on-4-off shift pattern. This isn't a desk job and it isn't a driving job — it's the vital link between our drivers on the road and the office, keeping deliveries moving and problems solved in real time.
You'll be the first point of contact for our drivers throughout the day — sending updates, taking calls, keeping our systems current, and stepping in when something needs fixing, whether that's a tyre issue, a delayed delivery, or a driver who needs support.
What You'll Be Doing
- Sending day-to-day updates and instructions to drivers, and answering their calls
- Keeping our transport management system updated in real time with job and delivery status
- Handling incoming calls from drivers and customers
- Acting as first point of contact for vehicle breakdowns and tyre call-outs during your shift, with authority to get problems sorted
- Logging incidents clearly so the next shift always knows what happened
- Working closely with our Planners and Operations Manager to keep the day running smoothly
What We're Looking For
- A confident, clear communicator — you'll be the calm voice drivers rely on
- Comfortable working a 4-on-4-off pattern, including some unsociable hours
- Good judgement under pressure — you'll sometimes need to make quick decisions
- A full UK driving licence
- Experience in transport, logistics, or customer-facing operational roles is a plus, but the right attitude matters more than a perfect CV
What You'll Get
- Competitive salary (£26,000–£36,000 depending on experience)
- A genuine, hands-on role at the centre of our operation — not just answering phones
- Room to grow — this role sits close to our Planning team, and strong performers have a clear route to progress
Pay: £28,000.00-£36,000.00 per year
Benefits:
- Casual dress
- Free parking
- On-site parking
Work Location: In person
