You’ll be part of a dedicated and compassionate team, all working together to ensure the smooth running of the service and to support the wellbeing of our residents. While your role doesn’t involve providing direct care, your contribution is vital in helping to maintain a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for everyone. Whether you're assisting with day-to-day operations, keeping things organised, or ensuring our spaces are well looked after, your support plays an important part in creating a positive experience for those who live and work here.
You will also;
- Ensure the home is maintained as a safe and secure place to live for the residents
- Maintain the home and grounds to ensure they are in excellent condition at all times
- Work closely with the home managers on long-term maintenance plans
- Check and repair fixtures and fittings that may include lighting and heating
The safety and security of our residents is at the forefront of what we do, so ensuring the home is safe and properly maintained is of utmost importance. We are looking for someone passionate about their work, with a friendly and outgoing nature, and who genuinely wants to make a difference in the lives of our residents.
Responsibilities
- Maintaining the site grounds, including mowing lawns, strimming, hedge trimming, weeding, and ensuring outdoor areas are kept clean, tidy, and presentable.
- Carry out daily maintenance checks and respond promptly to maintenance requests
- Complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks and reactive repairs across Service User’s rooms, public areas, kitchens, and service areas.
- Perform general maintenance duties including plumbing, painting, basic electrical work, joinery, and minor repairs.
- Ensure all facilities, fixtures, and equipment are in good working order and comply with health and safety standards.
- Record all maintenance work in the maintenance log or system.
- Liaise with external contractors and suppliers to coordinate specialist repair work when needed.
- Respond to emergency maintenance issues (e.g., leaks, electrical faults) promptly and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and safe maintenance workshop and storage area.
- Support energy-saving and sustainability initiatives across the homes
Skills & Experience Required
- Previous experience in a maintenance, facilities environment (min 1yr experience)
- Excellent attention to detail and a focused approach.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Flexible and adaptable
- Good communication skills and professional appearance

We’re seeking an individual with experience in general maintenance, including basic plumbing, electrical work, minor repairs and ground maintenance. You should have a good understanding of health and safety, be able to prioritise tasks, and work both independently and as part of a team. A friendly, proactive attitude and a genuine desire to make a difference in the lives of our residents are essential.
Pay: £13.91 per hour
