Job Title: HGV Class 2 Driver - Ground Protection Board Delivery & Laying
Location: Worksop Nottinghamshire
Reports to: Yard Manager/Supervisor
Job Type: Full-time 40 hours per week plus overtime
Job Summary:
We are seeking a diligent and physically capable HGV Class 2 Driver to join our team, specialising in the delivery and laying of ground protection boards. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient handling, delivery and laying of ground protection boards and other related equipment. This role is crucial to ensuring our products are delivered and laid meeting high standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
You are our ideal candidate if you enjoy working in a crew of two. Delivering ground protection boards to our valued customers all over the UK. As the part of the crew you will be responsible for the following;
- Safely loading and securing goods on the vehicle;
- Maintaining and conducting basic checks of their vehicle while you are responsible for it
- Delivery routes and schedules are planned in to office, you are responsible for delivering them safely;
- Driving large goods vehicles;
- Logging delivery information correctly;
- Having a strong awareness of the UK highway code;
- Keeping vigilant of correct delivery times;
- Planning driver breaks for safety purposes during long-distance hauls;
- Staying aware of any route diversions or updates to their delivery journey.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Physical Fitness: The ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks in an outdoor environment..
- Reliability: Punctual and a strong work ethic.
- Teamwork: Ability to work well with others and follow instructions.
- Experience: Previous experience delivering ground protection boards is beneficial but not essential.
- Driving License: A valid clean HGV driving licence is a requirement
Working Conditions:
- This is a hands-on, outdoor role. The employee will be exposed to various weather conditions.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be provided and must be worn at all times.
- The role may involve early starts, as well as working some weekends or overtime as needed.
- Some working away on site will be required - nights away allowance paid
