About the Role
MightyOlu is looking for a reliable, organised and detail-oriented Inbound & Inventory Store Assistant to support the day-to-day receiving and stock-control activities within our store.
The successful candidate will be responsible for receiving deliveries accurately, checking products against Purchase Orders (POs), maintaining accurate inventory records, carrying out stock counts, and ensuring that products are correctly stored on the shelves.
Accuracy is extremely important in this role, as you will help ensure that the physical stock within the store matches the quantities recorded on our inventory management system.
Key ResponsibilitiesDelivery Planning & Receiving
- Maintain awareness of all expected deliveries before their scheduled delivery dates.
- Review relevant Purchase Orders (POs) before deliveries arrive.
- Physically receive deliveries into the store and check them against the relevant PO.
- Able to identify and report discrepancies rather than making unapproved stock adjustments.
- Capable of working independently while also supporting the wider store team.
- Comfortable with the physical aspects of receiving, counting, moving and organising stock.
- Available to work Monday to Wednesday, 12:00pm–6:00pm.
- Previous experience in retail, warehousing, stock control, inventory management, goods receiving or store operations would be beneficial but is not essential, as appropriate training will be provided.Confirm that the products and quantities delivered correspond with what was ordered.
- Check deliveries for obvious shortages, incorrect products or damaged items.
- Sign delivery notes after the appropriate receiving checks have been completed.
- Immediately report any delivery discrepancies or concerns to the Store Manager.
Stock Counting & Put-Away
- Physically count all received products before they are placed on the shelves or in their designated storage locations.
- Ensure received products are correctly and safely put away.
- Maintain an organised stock area and ensure products are stored in their appropriate locations.
- Follow the store's stock-handling and inventory-control procedures.
Inventory System Updates
- Accurately update all received and counted stock on the inventory management system.
- Ensure that quantities entered into the system correspond with the physical quantities received.
- Escalate any system or physical stock discrepancies to the Store Manager.
Existing Stock Verification
Before adding newly received stock to existing products on the shelf, you will be required to:
- Physically count the existing stock of the product.
- Check the quantity against the inventory management system.
- Confirm whether the physical stock and system stock match.
- Report any discrepancy to the Store Manager.
- Add the newly received stock only after the required checks have been completed.
- Ensure the final stock quantity is accurately reflected on the inventory management system.
Cycle Counting & Stock Accuracy
- Carry out regular cycle counts of products across the store.
- Compare physical stock counts against quantities recorded on the inventory management system.
- Identify and report stock discrepancies.
- Assist with investigating stock variances where required.
- Support the Store Manager in maintaining high levels of inventory accuracy.
General Store Operations
- Support the Store Manager with other operational activities when required.
- Assist with stock organisation and general store housekeeping.
- Help maintain clean, safe and organised stock and storage areas.
- Follow all company procedures relating to stock handling, health and safety and store operations.
- Carry out other reasonable operational duties assigned by the Store Manager.
Person Specification
We are looking for someone who is:
- Reliable, punctual and trustworthy.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
- Comfortable working with numbers and counting stock accurately.
- Able to follow processes and instructions consistently.
- Comfortable using computers, tablets or inventory management systems.

Pay
The role will be paid at the applicable UK National Minimum Wage/National Living Wage rate, based on the employee's age and the statutory rate in force.
Pay: £13,218.00-£15,000.00 per month
