Job Overview
The Refurbishment Coordinator will be responsible for planning and instructing apartment turns from specification that are produced by the Move Coordinator.
The Refurbishment Coordinator will also be responsible for coordinating the decant project, ensuring the smooth relocation of occupants throughout the Project Future.
What a day as a Refurbishment Coordinator could look like:
- The Refurbishment Coordinator will be responsible for planning and scheduling apartment turnaround works for both long and short-let accommodation, based on specifications provided by the Move Coordinator. These requirements will be identified during the move out inventory process and imported into the property management system, enabling the Refurbishment Coordinator to coordinate and deliver the required works efficiently.
- This role will involve monitoring refurbishment programmes and maintaining regular communication with refurbishment technicians, contractors, suppliers, and internal departments to ensure works are completed efficiently and within agreed timescales.
- Responsibilities will include raising purchase orders, arranging and coordinating contracted works, ensuring stock and materials are available and accurately accounted for, and managing expenditure in line with allocated budgets.
- The Refurbishment Coordinator will be responsible for accurately inputting and maintaining information within management systems, ensuring records are up to date at all times to support day-to-day operations, management reporting, performance monitoring, and historical trend analysis.
- The Refurbishment Coordinator will provide support to the Move Coordinator by assisting with move-in and move-out inventories during peak periods and in the Move Coordinator’s absence, ensuring continuity of service and the accurate recording of property conditions and inventory information.
- The Refurbishment Coordinator will also be responsible for arranging property viewings and meetings with residents who need to decant from their homes and subsequently return to their permanent accommodation to enable project future to proceed.
- This role requires gathering information from residents and effectively communicating this to the in-house and project teams.
- Throughout the process, all resident information must be accurately recorded and tracked. The Refurbishment Coordinator will be responsible for arranging and allocating temporary / permanent accommodation where required, while ensuring residents / relatives are kept informed, updated, and fully supported at every stage of their relocation and return journey.
Must-Haves:
- Excellent organisation and communication.
- Experience in completing inventory reports.
- Experience in using office 365 for day-to-day activities and reporting.
- Experience with dealing with customers/residents via face-to-face, telephone and email.
Desired (preferred but not essential):
- Experience in the BTR industry and/or housing association.
- Experience managing decant activities in construction, housing projects or similar.
