Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and energetic Landscaping Operative to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing and maintaining outdoor spaces, ensuring they look their best and operate efficiently. Your work will involve a variety of landscaping tasks, from paving to pruning, operating machinery and tools, all with a focus on quality and safety. Responsibilities
- Perform landscaping tasks including laying paving, pruning, planting, weeding, and lawn care to keep outdoor areas healthy and visually appealing
- Plant usage including digger driving, dumper driving and wacker plates. Hedge trimmers, blowers, lawnmowers, and other gardening equipment safely and efficiently
- Use hand tools like shovels, rakes, pruners, and spades for various landscaping activities
- Conduct minor repairs and routine maintenance on equipment including power tools and machinery like excavators or irrigation systems
- Assist with construction projects such as installing garden features or building pathways using appropriate tools and techniques
- Support irrigation system installation, inspection, and repairs to ensure proper watering of landscapes
- Follow health and safety guidelines diligently while working outdoors in all weather conditions
Qualifications
- Experience in landscaping, gardening, or horticulture is highly desirable
- Basic mechanical knowledge related to garden machinery and power tools
- Familiarity with hand tools used in landscaping tasks
- Prior experience operating machinery such as excavators or similar construction equipment is a plus
- Knowledge of irrigation systems installation and troubleshooting
- Strong interest in landscaping, gardening, horticulture, or outdoor maintenance with a proactive attitude
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining safety standards
