About the Role:
Glasgow is one of the United Kingdom's most commercially active cities, and at Lahiala Business Transformation, we help organisations turn complex business challenges into practical and sustainable growth opportunities.
We work with clients across professional services, technology, operations and business transformation. Our focus is on improving commercial performance, strengthening client relationships and delivering solutions that create measurable value.
We are looking for an experienced Commercial Manager who can take ownership of commercial planning, contract performance and strategic client accounts. You will work closely with senior stakeholders, project teams and external partners to ensure that opportunities are commercially viable, contracts are managed effectively and business objectives are achieved.
This is not simply a contract administration role. You will influence pricing, negotiations, account growth, risk management and long-term commercial strategy.
Why Work With Us?
The Environment:
Our Glasgow City Centre location provides a professional and collaborative working environment with convenient access to public transport, restaurants and major business districts.
Commercial Influence:
You will have a meaningful role in shaping proposals, pricing decisions, contract terms and client growth strategies. Your recommendations will directly influence business performance.
Varied Client Portfolio:
You will work across multiple industries and commercial projects, giving you exposure to different business models, operational challenges and market opportunities.
Professional Growth:
We support continued professional development through industry training, commercial workshops and relevant professional qualifications.
Key Responsibilities:
Commercial Strategy:
Develop and implement commercial plans that support revenue growth, profitability and long-term business objectives.
Contract Management:
Review, negotiate and manage commercial contracts, service agreements and supplier arrangements. Ensure that contractual obligations, deadlines and financial terms are clearly understood and followed.
Pricing and Proposals:
Lead the commercial preparation of proposals, tenders and client quotations. Work with internal teams to create competitive pricing models while protecting margins.
Client Relationship Management:
Build trusted relationships with key clients and commercial partners. Identify opportunities to expand existing accounts and improve client retention.
Financial Performance:
Monitor revenue, margins, project costs and commercial performance. Produce regular reports, forecasts and recommendations for senior management.
Risk Management:
Identify contractual, financial and operational risks before they affect project delivery or profitability. Develop practical mitigation plans with relevant stakeholders.
Negotiation:
Lead commercial discussions with clients, suppliers and external partners. Negotiate terms that balance client needs with the commercial interests of the company.
Cross Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with finance, operations, project delivery and business development teams to ensure that commercial commitments are realistic and achievable.
What We Are Looking For:
Experience:
At least 6 years of experience in commercial management, contract management, business development, procurement or a related commercial role.
Commercial Knowledge:
Strong understanding of pricing, budgeting, forecasting, contract terms, margin management and commercial risk.
Negotiation Skills:
A confident and professional negotiator who can manage complex discussions and achieve balanced commercial outcomes.
Stakeholder Management:
Ability to communicate clearly with clients, suppliers, project teams and senior decision-makers.
Analytical Ability:
Comfortable interpreting financial information, evaluating commercial performance and making evidence-based recommendations.
Qualifications:
A degree in Business Management, Finance, Economics, Law, Procurement or a related discipline is preferred. Relevant professional qualifications are advantageous.
Mindset:
You are commercially focused, organised and solutions oriented. You can balance growth opportunities with financial discipline and understand when to challenge a proposal, renegotiate a term or move quickly to secure an opportunity.
Pay: £4,000.00-£5,000.00 per month
