Evening Care Assistant
Melrose Care Home, a family run, 25 bed nursing home based in Worthing, West Sussex provide second-to-none care for our residents, offering a truly personal experience for everyone who lives with us.
As a nursing home rated “Outstanding” by CQC we are seeking to recruit for an Evening Health Care Assistant to join our committed and driven team and to uphold the same ethos and passion for care that we do.
The main duties to include, but not limited to:
· To provide personal care to residents, to include assisting with dressing/undressing, bathing, using the toilet and getting ready for bed and settled for the evening
· To make drinks for the residents, ensure all residents who do not require assistance have fresh water on their tables
· To set the breakfast trays
· To help in the kitchen with washing up, and collect empty plates/cups from around the home.
· To help care for residents temporarily sick and needing minor dressings, bed nursing (under the supervision of a RN)
· To help care for EOL residents
· Report the care given to residents using our in-house system
· To answer all bells, emergency bells, the front door, greet visitors and answer the telephone if the RN is unavailable
· To be available to attend mandatory staff training and staff meetings.
Salary: Excellent rates of pay dependent on experience.
Shift patterns comprise of:
· 3 evenings a week 5/6pm-10pm, to include 1 weekend evening
Requirements

Desirable
· NVQ in Health and Social Care (or willing to do your NVQ with Melrose)
· Previous care experience
· Knowledge in personal care
· Experience in working with older people
· Interest in staff training and development
