5 Star Cases are looking for Production operatives to join our small friendly team based in Wisbech. The successful candidate will be a hard-working and dedicated individual. As a Factory Operative, you will be responsible for operating machinery, assembling products, and ensuring that all products meet our high-quality standards
Role
- Manual handling and carrying 1220 x 2440 sheets of plywood of varying thicknesses - 0.5mm, 9mm, 12mm, 15mm and 18mm
- Applying water-based adhesive using a roller applicator where an even consistent layer is required
- Applying high quality laminate sheets to the ready glued plywood
- Operate machinery and equipment including nip rollers and heated press to produce products according to specifications
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred, but not essential
- Always follow safety procedures and guidelines
- Good attention to detail
- Ability to work to a good work rate
Requirements
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines
- Willingness to work overtime as required
- Be willing and able to learn new skills
The job role and duties will mainly be working in the air-conditioned laminating department carrying out the listed tasks but could include Pinning, CNC machining, fitting, use of handheld machinery.
In return we are offering 16 days holiday per year plus bank holidays and you will also accrue one additional days’ paid holiday for each completed year of service, up to a maximum of 4 additional days, pension scheme, on-site parking, staff discount and an Employee assistance program
The hours of work will be Monday to Thursday 6am - 6pm with 1 hour unpaid breaks. Starting rate is £13.45 per hour to increase after probation
