Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Coffee Shop Assistant to join our vibrant team. This role involves providing excellent customer service, preparing a variety of beverages, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering high-quality service and have a keen eye for detail to ensure food safety standards are upheld. Previous experience in a similar setting is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided.
Duties
- Prepare and serve a range of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and speciality drinks.
- Take customer orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring prompt service.
- Handle cash transactions and operate the till with precision.
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, equipment, and customer areas in accordance with food safety regulations.
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as assembling sandwiches or snacks when required.
- Restock supplies and organise stock to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Provide friendly assistance to customers, answering queries and offering recommendations.
- Follow health and safety procedures diligently to uphold hygiene standards.
Skills
- Previous barista experience is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for those new to the role.
- Experience in serving customers in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions accurately.
- Ability to prepare food items efficiently while maintaining quality standards.
- Excellent time management skills to prioritise tasks during busy periods.
- Strong organisational skills to keep work areas tidy and stocked appropriately.
- Good communication skills with a friendly demeanour to enhance customer experience.
