Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and dedicated Kitchen Assistant/Cook to join our dynamic culinary team. Responsibilities
- Assist in food preparation by chopping, peeling, measuring ingredients, and assembling dishes according to established recipes and standards
- Support the cooking process by following instructions from senior kitchen staff and ensuring timely meal production
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and disposing of waste properly
- Ensure food safety protocols are followed at all times, including proper storage of ingredients and adherence to hygiene standards
- Help with serving meals to customers or residents in a courteous and efficient manner
- Restock supplies and ingredients as needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Follow all health and safety regulations to create a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues
Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a kitchen or restaurant environment is preferred
- Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods
- Understanding of food safety standards and proper hygiene practices
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards collaboration
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends or evenings if necessary
- Prior experience with meal preparation or culinary training is a plus but not mandatory
