Vehicle Strip Fitter
Location: Corby, Northamptonshire
Shift: Monday-Friday, 06:00-14:00 / 14:00-22:00 (Weekly Rotating Shifts)
Pay Rate: £17.80 per hour, rising up to £21.36 per hour with shift allowances and overtime premiums
Contract: Full-Time, Ongoing Work
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Vehicle Strip Fitter to join a busy automotive bodyshop operation in Corby. This is an excellent opportunity to join a fast-paced workshop environment, carrying out vehicle de-trim and re-trim work to support the repair and refurbishment process.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring vehicles are stripped and rebuilt to a high standard before being returned to customers.
The Role:
As a Vehicle Strip Fitter, your responsibilities will include:
- Removing vehicle panels, trims, and components prior to repair and paint processes
- Refitting panels, trims, and associated components following repair work
- Checking electrical systems and vehicle functions following reassembly
- Inspecting completed work to ensure correct fitment and finish
- Working in line with manufacturer repair methods and workshop procedures
- Maintaining tools and equipment in good working order
- Supporting workshop productivity by completing work efficiently and accurately
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised working environment
- Following all health and safety procedures at all times
The Person:
- Previous experience as a Vehicle Strip Fitter, Trimmer, MET Technician, or similar automotive role
- Good understanding of vehicle body and trim components
- Ability to remove and refit components without causing damage
- Strong attention to detail and quality standards
- Reliable, hardworking, and safety conscious
- Willingness to learn and develop new skills
- Full UK Driving Licence with no more than 6 points for minor offences
- Must be over 22 years old for insurance purposes
