Support Worker (Autism)
Part-Time: 20-24 hours a week
There are two positions available.
1= Monday, Tuesday Wednesday (9am to 5pm)
2=Wednesday, Thursday (9am to 5pm), and Friday (9am to 2pm)
£14-16 p/h
Driving Licence and use of own car essential (petrol covered).
Autism Social Support Worker Role
We are looking to hire two reliable, easy going, and patient support workers. This would ideally suit a psychology graduate with a passion for supporting and understanding autistic teenagers with difficulties in understanding social contexts.
It is essential to be a good time keeping, and work with the teen’s routine in a structured way. You will be required to support the service user with everyday tasks, and social activities.
Patience is required as the individual is likely to enjoy repetitive behaviours and conversations. Shared interests are paramount in being able to fulfil this role successfully, as he will desire to engage in conversations regarding technology and chemistry.
Qualifications: Psychology degree or equivalent or relevant work experience supporting autistic teenagers. Full, clean driving license, Full DBS check.

- Safe, experienced (at least 18 months) driver
Knowledge / Skills / Ability:
- Ability to communicate and express thoughts and ideas competently to someone with communication difficulties is essential
- Ability to establish and strengthen trust and relationships is essential
- An interest and good conversational knowledge in Technology or chemistry.
- Enjoys the gym and walking outside
- Enjoys cooking and nutrition
- Ability to prioritize, organize and complete tasks in a timely manner is essential
- Skilled at empathic listening is essential
- Knowledge of autism is essential
- Knowledge and interest in IT essential
- A-levels in science and maths desirable but not essential
Pay: £13.00-£16.00 per hour
