Street Scene Operative
About the Role
We are recruiting a Street Scene Operative to support environmental services, highway maintenance, and the upkeep of clean, safe, and well-maintained public spaces. This is a practical outdoor role suited to someone who enjoys manual work, takes pride in maintaining local environments, and works well as part of a team.
What You'll Be Doing
- Carrying out a range of manual duties across street scene services
- Supporting highway maintenance activities as required
- Completing street cleansing tasks including maintaining public areas and communal spaces
- Assisting with grounds maintenance work
- Operating basic tools and equipment safely and effectively
- Following Health & Safety procedures and guidelines at all times
- Working collaboratively with colleagues to deliver high-quality services
- Supporting daily operational requirements and completing assigned tasks efficiently
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Full UK driving licence
- Eligibility to work in the UK
- Minimum of 2 years' references/work history
- Ability to undertake manual work across various outdoor service areas
- Willingness to work outdoors in different weather conditions
- Completion of required pre-employment documentation, including:
- Criminal convictions declaration
- Confidentiality agreement
Desirable:
- Previous experience in street scene services, highway maintenance, cleansing, or grounds maintenance
- Experience working in an outdoor manual role
