Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook, and present a diverse range of dishes in accordance with menu specifications and quality standards.
- Assist in menu planning and ingredient selection to ensure freshness and variety.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety regulations at all times.
- Monitor stock levels, place orders for ingredients, and manage inventory efficiently.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during service hours.
- Ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner to meet customer expectations.
- Follow health and safety guidelines diligently, including proper handling of food and kitchen equipment.
- Assist with training new staff members as required, sharing knowledge of culinary techniques and safety procedures.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food preparation and cooking within a professional kitchen environment.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in hygiene management.
- Previous experience working in a restaurant or hospitality setting is highly desirable.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A recognised culinary qualification or relevant training is preferred but not essential.
- Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and evenings as required by the business needs.
