Home‑School Tutoring Sussex & Kent is an established tuition business with a strong reputation for high standards, meaningful tutor–student relationships, and a genuine commitment to safeguarding.
We are seeking a self-employed GCSE Maths Tutor to deliver face‑to‑face, one‑to‑one teaching for 3 hours per week for a young person based in Uckfield. The learner requires structured, consistent weekly support to help them progress confidently towards GCSE Maths.
Responsibilities
- Deliver 1:1 GCSE Maths teaching
- Plan and deliver structured sessions with clear learning outcomes
- Adapt teaching to meet SEND/SEMH needs
- Maintain accurate session notes and follow safeguarding procedures
- Communicate effectively with the Area Advisor and wider AP team
Requirements
Applicants MUST:
- Be SEN and SEMH‑informed
- Have experience teaching or tutoring GCSE Maths
- Have a current Enhanced DBS (or be willing to obtain one)
- Be prepared to deliver in‑person, face‑to‑face sessions
- Provide professional references and safeguarding documentation
- Be reliable, consistent, and confident working independently
- Follow Local Authority safeguarding processes
- Experience supporting demand‑avoidant learners
- 2 years teaching or tutoring
Preferred Experience:
- 2 years teaching or tutoring
