About the Position
Contract: Part-time, Permanent, Term Time
Hours: 26 hours per week, 4 days per week, 9:00am–4:00pm
Salary: £12.71 per hour
Start date: September 2026
Working primarily within our boarding house and school areas, you will help maintain excellent standards of cleanliness, hygiene and presentation.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Cleaning bedrooms, bathrooms, toilets, communal areas and corridors.
- Vacuuming, mopping, dusting and cleaning surfaces, fixtures and fittings.
- Cleaning and sanitising bathroom and toilet facilities.
- Emptying bins and disposing of waste appropriately.
- Changing bed linen and assisting with laundry duties where required.
- Replenishing cleaning and hygiene supplies.
- Reporting maintenance issues, damage or health and safety concerns.
- Following cleaning procedures, COSHH requirements and health and safety guidance.
- Working sensitively within the boarding environment and respecting pupils' privacy and belongings.
- Following the School's safeguarding procedures at all times.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Reliable, hardworking and able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Committed to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
- Well organised with good attention to detail.
- Professional and respectful when working around children and young people.
- Able to follow health and safety, COSHH and safeguarding procedures.
- Flexible and willing to support the wider cleaning team when required.
Previous cleaning experience would be advantageous, particularly within a school, boarding, hospitality or similar environment, but is not essential.
