As part of our continued growth, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Consultant Residential Surveyor to join our professional team on a self-employed consultancy basis.
The Role
The successful candidate will undertake a range of residential valuation and surveying instructions across our operating area, delivering professional advice to private clients, lenders, solicitors, housing associations, developers and other stakeholders.
This role offers flexibility and autonomy while benefiting from the support, reputation and established client base of Clarke Gammon.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake residential valuations for:
- Secured lending purposes
- Help to Buy and shared ownership transactions
- Probate and inheritance tax matters
- Matrimonial and divorce proceedings
- Capital Gains Tax and other taxation purposes
- Market appraisals and advisory work
- Carry out residential surveys including:
- RICS Level 2 Home Surveys
- RICS Level 3 Building Surveys
- Defect diagnosis and consultancy reports
- Prepare clear, accurate and professional reports in accordance with RICS requirements and company standards.
- Maintain a high level of client care and professional communication throughout the instruction process.
- Develop and maintain relationships with private clients, solicitors, lenders, developers, estate agency colleagues and professional introducers.
- Assist with business development and identify opportunities to expand surveying and valuation instructions across the region.
- Ensure compliance with RICS Red Book requirements, professional standards and relevant legislation.
Candidate Requirements Essential
- AssocRICS, MRICS or FRICS qualified Chartered Surveyor (3+ Years PQE)
- Registered Valuer status.
- Proven experience in residential valuation and survey work.
- Excellent report writing and communication skills.
- Strong working knowledge of RICS professional standards and Red Book requirements.
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
Desirable
- Experience undertaking expert witness, probate or matrimonial valuations.
- Established local professional contacts and referral network.
- Knowledge of the Surrey, Hampshire and West Sussex residential property markets.
