The Seacht Group brings together several specialist engineering and construction companies operating across the UK and Ireland. Our businesses (including Saith, VII Services, Paul & Loughran and BLE) deliver design, construction, and infrastructure solutions across natural gas, low-carbon, and wider energy sectors.
We’re growing, modernising, and strengthening our commercial capability across the group, and we’re now looking for an experienced Contracts & Commercial Manager to play a key role in supporting our project delivery, risk management, and profitability.
The Role
You’ll provide strategic commercial oversight across multiple businesses within the group, ensuring sound financial control, contractual compliance, and effective risk management. Working closely with directors and project teams, you’ll act as the commercial conscience of the group safeguarding margin, managing exposure, and improving commercial governance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review, negotiate and manage contracts including NEC4, JCT, and bespoke forms.
- Support tenders, identify commercial risks, and guide teams on mitigation strategies.
- Oversee cost forecasts, CVRs, and project profitability reporting.
- Manage variations, compensation events, and claims.
- Lead final account negotiations and project close-out.
- Develop and implement group-wide commercial procedures and reporting standards.
- Build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Provide commercial training and guidance across the group.
About You
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Experienced (5+ years) in commercial management within engineering, design, or construction.
- Highly knowledgeable in NEC3/NEC4 PSC and ECC contract forms.
- Commercially astute with strong analytical and negotiation skills.
- Confident managing financial forecasts, contract risk, and client relationships.
- Qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Construction Law or an Engineering degree coupled with relevant experience and other learning.
- A pragmatic communicator who can work effectively across different business cultures.
- Already in a similar role or looking to make the next step in their career.

Pay: £70,000.00-£80,000.00 per year
