As Commercial Manager, you are a key member of the store leadership team, responsible for driving commercial performance while protecting brand standards and customer experience. Working closely with the General Manager and Deputy General Manager, you translate business strategy into effective trading activity on the shop floor.
This role balances insight and execution — using data, curiosity, and commercial judgement to maximise sales, profitability, and customer engagement.
Customer and Brand Experience
Ensure commercial activity enhances, rather than compromises, the customer journey and brand experience.
Lead by example on the shop floor, inspiring teams to deliver warm, personalised, and memorable service.
Balance commercial priorities with a strong focus on brand presentation and storytelling.
Act as a senior brand ambassador, ensuring the customer journey reflects The White Company values, tone, and premium standards
Use customer insight and feedback to refine product placement, space, and trading decisions.
Support a seamless multi-channel experience, ensuring commercial priorities align with customer needs.
People and Culture: Leading the Team
Inspire, coach, and develop team members to deliver strong commercial and service performance.
Support recruitment, onboarding, and development within agreed staffing budgets.
Partner with the wider management team to build capability, confidence, and engagement across the store.
Foster a collaborative, inclusive culture where curiosity, creativity, and accountability are encouraged.

Operational and Commercial Excellence: Driving Performance
Drive sales and profitability by delivering budget targets and managing controllable costs.
Partner with the General Manager and Deputy General Manager to develop and execute local trading strategies.
Analyse KPIs, trading reports, and category performance through a clear rhythm and routine of review, follow-up, and action, ensuring opportunities and risks are actively progressed.
Translate commercial insight into practical trading priorities for the wider team.
Maintain strong awareness of competitor activity and market trends, adapting plans to align with customer demand.
Optimise stock flow, product placement, and space utilisation to maximise full-price sell-through.
Ensure commercial ways of working support both efficient execution and a premium customer experience.
Lead commercial floor walks and host senior stakeholder visits.
Provide clear performance insight and feedback to Head Office partners.
About You
Proven experience managing significant turnover within a premium retail environment.
Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to analyse data and translate insight into action.
Experience leading and developing management or senior store teams.
Confident communicator, comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders and cross-functional partners.
Highly organised, adaptable, and solution-focused.
A natural leader with curiosity, drive, and a passion for delivering excellence.
