Job Summary
The Post 16 Futures Tutor plays a vital role in supporting young adults in their transition from education to employment or further training. This position involves delivering tailored guidance programmes, fostering student development, and equipping learners with essential skills for their future careers. The tutor will work closely with students to enhance their confidence, organisational abilities, and practical knowledge across a range of subjects including English, IT, and basic trades such as plumbing. The role offers an engaging opportunity to make a positive impact on young people's lives while developing specialised teaching and mentoring expertise.
Responsibilities
- Deliver personalised tutoring sessions focusing on English language skills, IT literacy, and practical trades such as plumbing.
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet individual student needs and organisational objectives.
- Working with SEN learner & having a strong understanding of pathways learners can access post 16.
- Provide career guidance and support students in identifying suitable pathways post-16, including further education or employment opportunities.
- Foster strong communication skills among students through interactive activities and constructive feedback.
- Organise resources and materials to facilitate effective learning environments both in-person and online.
- Monitor student progress regularly, maintaining accurate records of attendance, achievements, and areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with colleagues, employers, and training providers to enhance programme delivery and student support services.
- Promote organisational skills within students by encouraging goal setting, time management, and self-assessment practices.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in teaching or tutoring roles, ideally within a post-16 education setting.
- Strong knowledge of English language instruction and IT systems relevant to educational environments.
- Familiarity with practical trades such as plumbing is desirable but not essential; training will be provided where necessary.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate and engage young adults effectively.
- Organised with the ability to plan lessons efficiently and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Demonstrated organisational skills to maintain accurate records and track student progress effectively.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to suit diverse learning styles and needs.
- A recognised qualification in education or a related field is preferred but not mandatory; relevant experience will be considered favourably.

Pay: £25.00-£30.00 per hour
