Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Senior Residential Child Care Worker to provide high-quality care and support to children and young people in a residential setting. The successful candidate will play a vital role in fostering a safe, nurturing environment that promotes positive development and well-being. Duties
- Supervise and support children and young people, ensuring their safety and emotional well-being at all times.
- Develop, implement, and review individualised care plans tailored to each child's needs.
- Engage in daily activities that promote social, emotional, and behavioural development.
- Assist with educational activities and encourage participation in recreational programmes.
- Maintain accurate records of daily observations, incidents, and progress reports.
- Foster positive relationships through effective communication, guidance, and modelling appropriate behaviour.
- Collaborate with colleagues, families, and external professionals to ensure holistic support for each child.
- Drive children to appointments or activities as required, ensuring safe transportation.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance childcare skills and stay updated with best practices.
Requirements
- Proven experience working with children or in childcare settings.
- Valid driving licence with the ability to drive safely and responsibly.
- Knowledge of child development principles and experience creating or following care plans.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with children, families, colleagues, and external agencies.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently.
- IT proficiency for maintaining accurate records and completing administrative tasks.
- Compassionate nature with a genuine commitment to supporting vulnerable children’s needs.
