Job summary
Working within a large busy Reception team, receiving inbound and making outbound calls. Reception duty cover will also be required.
Receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous efficient and effective way
Provide general assistance to the Practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and visitors, either in person or via the telephone.
What You Will Be Doing:
Ensure an effective and efficient reception service is provided to patients and any visitors to the Practice
·Deal with all general enquiries, explain procedures and make new and follow up appointments in an office setting over the phone·
Using your own judgement and communication skills along with basic triage to ensure that patients with no prior appointments who need urgent consultation are seen in a logical and non-disruptive manner
Explain practice arrangements and formal requirements to new patients and those seeking temporary cover and ensure procedures are completed
Receive and make telephone calls as required. Divert calls and take messages, ensuring accuracy of detail and prompt appropriate delivery
Enter requests for home visits onto the Primary Care Practitioner clinic list for triage. Ensuring careful recording of all relevant details
Advise patients of relevant charges for private services (non General Medical Services) accept payment and issue receipts
Enter patient information onto the computer as required· Complete administration tasks as requested
Undertake any other additional duties appropriate to the post as requested by the Partners or Management
Able to travel to our sister site in Werrington
What You Will Need To Have:
Ability to deliver high levels of customer care.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent customer service skills, using telephone and face to face
Ability to learn and operate relevant computer systems
Ability to multi-task, remaining calm and professional even in a pressurised customer service environment.
