Play Assistant – Funrise Before & After School Club (Swindon)
Funrise is a friendly before and after school club based at a local primary school in Swindon. We care for children aged 3–11 during:
We’re looking for a caring, reliable Play Assistant to join our team.
Role Responsibilities
- Deliver fun, safe and engaging play activities
- Collect children from school and ensure safe handover to parents
- Set up and pack away play areas
- Prepare snacks and maintain hygiene and safety standards
- Administer first aid when needed
- Support children’s ideas and involvement in activities
- Communicate well with parents, staff and the school
- Follow all club policies and procedures
Essential Skills & Experience
- Experience working with children aged 3–11
- Understanding of children’s needs and inclusive practice
- Ability to provide safe, creative play
- Good communication and teamwork
- Common sense and sound judgement
- Sufficient spoken English for children’s wellbeing
- Experience in a play‑based or childcare setting
- Ability to use initiative
- Relevant qualification or willingness to train
- Paediatric First Aid & Food Hygiene (or willingness to obtain)
- Child protection training
Job Types: Part-time, Temporary, Contract
Contract length: 12 months
Pay: Up to £12.71 per hour
