Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Preschool Room Leader to join our team on a maternity cover basis. In this vital role, you will lead and inspire a team of early childhood educators, creating a nurturing, engaging, and safe environment for young children to learn and grow. Your leadership will ensure the delivery of high-quality childcare that promotes developmental milestones and fosters a love for learning. Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the daily operations of the preschool room, ensuring a smooth and organized environment for children and staff
- Plan, implement, and evaluate age-appropriate activities that support early childhood development across all areas including social, emotional, cognitive, and physical skills
- Supervise and mentor team members, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities
- Maintain open communication with parents and guardians, providing updates on children’s progress and addressing any concerns promptly
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and safeguarding policies to create a secure environment for children and staff
- Observe children regularly to assess their needs and progress, adjusting activities accordingly to promote individual development
- Support the onboarding of new staff members and assist in maintaining accurate records of attendance, assessments, and incident reports
Skills
- Proven management and leadership skills with experience overseeing early childhood settings or nurseries
- Strong communication skills in English to effectively liaise with children, parents, colleagues, and external agencies
- Extensive experience working directly with children in childcare or nursery environments
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and best practices for child development
- Ability to motivate and inspire a team while maintaining high standards of care and professionalism
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in record keeping and planning activities
