We are looking for a Commercial Assistant to join our Commercial Department based in Spalding. No previous construction experience is required, we are looking for the right person with a positive attitude and willingness to learn. Full training and support will be provided.
This is a great opportunity to join a growing housebuilding company and learn all areas of the Commercial Department, including purchasing, subcontractor management, payments, invoices, cost control and project administration.
You will work closely with our experienced Commercial team, who will support and teach you the skills needed to build a long-term career.
Working Hours
We understand that everyone’s circumstances are different, so we can offer flexibility with working hours:
- Full Time: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm
The Role
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Helping raising and managing purchase orders for materials and subcontractors
- Assisting with checking and processing invoices
- Helping with processing subcontractor payment applications
- Updating spreadsheets and maintaining project information
- Communicating with suppliers, subcontractors and site teams
- Supporting procurement of Subcontractors and Materials
- Helping prepare reports and commercial information
- General administration support across the Commercial Department
Over time, you will learn how construction projects are commercially run, from initial information preparation, purchasing and orders through to completion.

Skills Required
- Basic Microsoft Word and Excel skills
- Good computer skills

- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
Full training will be provided, so previous experience in construction, buying or quantity surveying is not required.
