Location: Hunters Lodge Care Home, 39 Kiln Road, Fareham, Hampshire, PO16 7UQ
Salary: From £13.81 per hour
Hours: Full-time, 36–48 hours per week (8pm–8am)
Pattern: Two-week rolling rota, including alternate weekends

The Role
As a Night Senior Care Assistant, you’ll take the lead in ensuring our residents feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for throughout the night. You’ll guide and support your team, oversee care delivery, and provide hands-on assistance to ensure each resident receives the highest standard of person-centred care.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Leading, supporting, and motivating the night care team
- Providing personal and emotional care to residents living with dementia
- Monitoring residents’ health and wellbeing, and responding promptly to any changes
- Administering medication safely and accurately (training provided)
- Keeping detailed, accurate care records and reports
- Encouraging independence, dignity, and respect in every interaction
- Supporting new colleagues and helping maintain a positive, team-focused environment
About You
You’re someone who leads with compassion, confidence, and a genuine commitment to great care. You take pride in what you do and set high standards for yourself and your team.
Essential:
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care
- Previous experience in a senior care role
- Experience supporting people living with dementia
- Proven ability to lead or manage a night shift
- Willingness to work alternate weekends
Desirable:
- Medication administration training (eMAR)
- End-of-life care experience
