This is an exciting opportunity to join Kippie Sports & Leisure Club as a Leisure Attendant. Set in beautiful grounds just outside central Aberdeen, Kippie is a welcoming, member-focused club offering an extensive range of sports and leisure facilities. Working Pattern and Essential Applicant Requirements
We are recruiting for this position as one role; however, we are open to dividing the hours between two part-time appointments for the right candidates.
Important: Please apply only if you hold a valid National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) and can work the required shifts: weekdays from 5.15 am to 1.45 pm or 1.45 pm to 10.15 pm, plus occasional weekends from 6.45 am to 2.00 pm or 2.00 pm to 9.15 pm.
Public transport does not operate at times that support these shifts. As Kippie is located outside central Aberdeen, applicants must therefore be car owners and have reliable access to their own transport.
MAIN JOB PURPOSE
The role of a Leisure Attendant is to support, enhance and deliver the day-to-day operations of the Sports Complex. You will maintain surveillance of users acting immediately and appropriately to secure the safety of members in the event of emergency. When necessary, you will provide emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency services.
KEY DUTIES / OBJECTIVES
Customer Service:
- To provide a friendly and efficient service to all customers and respond positively to customer enquiries.
- Assist in covering reception and pro-actively provide information to promote the Club.
General Duties:
- To assist with the opening and closing of the Sports Complex.
- To ensure day to day preparation of facilities e.g., equipment set ups.
- To undertake coaching/supervision of courses and sessions as required
- Help maintain exceptional standards of hygiene and cleanliness of the whole sport complex.
- To ensure that all users behave in an orderly manner and take appropriate action should any member misuse the facilities.
- To assist with the delivery of continuous improvement plans.
- To assist in the maintenance, use and updating of safety equipment and to ensure that the requirements of the Health and Safety at Work Act are properly adhered to.
- To be diligent about compliance with the clubs Health and Safety Policy.
- To take on relevant responsibilities during Emergency Procedures.
Aquatics:
- To lifeguard and supervise the pool area, assist swimmers in difficulty, undertake any necessary life-saving operations and apply First Aid as needed.
- To supervise the sauna, steam room, changing rooms, showers, and associated areas.
- To make and record periodic checks on chemical levels of the pool water and report to a manager/supervisor should it fail to meet the required standards.
- To ensure the day-to-day preparation of the pool facilities for swimming lessons, special water activities and private parties.
- To maintain a National Pool Lifeguard Qualification including attendance at staff training monthly.
Pay: £10.85-£12.71 per hour
