About the Role
KASE Care is seeking compassionate and experienced Complex Care Support Workers to provide one-to-one support for a gentleman living with a brain injury and complex health needs in his own home.
This is a rewarding role supporting an individual who requires full assistance with personal care, medication administration via RIG feeding tube, continence care, mobility supervision, and daily living activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting dignity, independence, safety, and emotional wellbeing while delivering person-centred care.
Service User Needs May Include
- Acquired brain injury following a thalamic stroke
- Cognitive impairment and reduced awareness of risk
- Communication difficulties requiring patience and reassurance
- Asthma requiring monitoring and inhaler support
- RIG (Radiologically Inserted Gastrostomy) feeding tube management
- Full support with medication administration via RIG
- Full assistance with personal care and dressing
- Continence care and regular pad changes
- High risk of falls due to poor balance and mobility difficulties
- Skin integrity monitoring and pressure area care
- Emotional support and social engagement
- Support with meals, hydration, and nutritional monitoring
- Support with daily routines and maintaining a structured environment
Key Responsibilities
- Provide full personal care support including washing, dressing, grooming, and continence care
- Complete regular pad changes and maintain skin integrity
- Administer prescribed medication via RIG following MAR charts and company procedures
- Support with enteral feeding, hydration, and nutritional monitoring
- Carry out RIG site observations and escalate concerns appropriately
- Assist with meal preparation and supervise oral intake
- Support safe mobility and transfers while reducing fall risks
- Encourage participation in daily activities, walks, and social interaction
- Monitor and record changes in health, wellbeing, behaviour, and mobility
- Support with household tasks including cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe environment
- Follow infection prevention and always control procedures
- Complete accurate care notes and documentation using company systems
- Escalate concerns promptly to the Clinical Lead or appropriate healthcare professionals
- Maintain professional boundaries while building positive therapeutic relationships
Requirements
- Must be eligible to work in the UK (Sponsorship is not available for this role)
- Previous experience supporting individuals with complex care needs
- Experience with PEG/RIG feeding and medication administration is desirable
- Experience supporting individuals with acquired brain injuries is desirable
- Knowledge of moving and handling procedures
- Ability to recognise and respond to non-verbal signs of discomfort or distress
- Caring, patient, and compassionate nature
- Strong communication and record-keeping skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care (preferred but not essential)
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one)
Mandatory Induction
In line with company policy, all successful candidates must attend our mandatory two-day induction programme before commencing work.
The induction includes:
- Maths/Medication and English assessments
- Introduction to KASE Care and company values
- CQC regulations and compliance expectations
- Safeguarding responsibilities
- Care planning and documentation systems
- Medication administration procedures
- Basic Life Support and First Aid
- Moving and handling practical training
- Issuing of uniforms and ID badges
- Introduction to management and support teams
Attendance at both induction days is mandatory.
