Job Purpose
The Restaurant Team-Member plays a key role in providing exceptional front-of-house service to customers. The purpose of this role is to ensure guests feel welcomed, attended to, and supported throughout their dining experience. This includes guiding guests from entry through to payment, serving food and drink with efficiency and professionalism, maintaining a clean and organised dining area, and upholding Olympus’ consistently high standards.
We are looking for a reliable person to join our hardworking team at the Olympus Fish and Chip Restaurant. You will be working alongside our Restaurant Manager and team of Waiting Staff so must have the ability to work as a team and take pride in your work.
This is a fast-paced role and will require you to work efficiently and be comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
Reporting Line
Reports to: Restaurant Manager / Duty Supervisor
Key Responsibilities
Core duties:
- Meet, greet, and seat customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Present menus, explain specials, and answer customer queries.
- Take accurate food and drink orders using the EPOS system (if required).
- Carry and serve food and beverages, including carrying multiple plates as needed.
- Prepare and serve drinks including teas, coffees, soft drinks, wines, and spirits.
- Provide attentive customer service throughout the dining experience.
- Clear, clean, and reset tables promptly to maintain service flow.
- Maintain exceptional cleanliness and presentation standards across all dining areas.
- Uphold food hygiene, safety, and allergen-awareness regulations.
Additional duties may include:
- Cash handling and processing payments.
- Supporting colleagues during busy periods with general front-of-house as well as back-of-house tasks.
Skills & Experience Required
- Strong customer service skills; hospitality experience essential.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Confident, polite, and professional communication style.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
- Takes pride in personal presentation and quality of work.
- Trustworthy, punctual, reliable, and committed.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Understanding of food hygiene and safety (training provided if needed).

Working Hours / Shift Patterns:
- This role is available on a part-time basis. Shifts are assigned via a rota system and may change each week, therefore flexibility is essential. Number of hours available each week will vary, however average expected hours are between 15-20 per week. Opening hours of the business are 9.30am - 7.00pm, and shifts can be assigned at any time within these hours.
