Overview
We are seeking reliable and experienced cleaners to join our team, specifically providing cleaning services for short-let, Airbnb and serviced accommodation properties.
This is not a regular domestic cleaning role. Cleaning assignments are primarily scheduled around guest check-outs and new guest arrivals, meaning the number of cleans available may vary from week to week depending on property bookings.
Cleaners will be offered available cleaning assignments in advance, with as much notice as reasonably possible, allowing you to confirm your availability before accepting a clean.
This arrangement may particularly suit cleaners looking for flexible work alongside other commitments. For suitable candidates who prefer greater consistency, structured minimum-hour arrangements may also be discussed and negotiated, subject to availability, performance and business requirements.
The ideal candidate will be reliable, detail-oriented and capable of consistently preparing short-let properties to a high standard within the allocated turnaround period.
Responsibilities
- Clean and prepare short-let, Airbnb and serviced accommodation properties between guest stays.
- Complete cleaning assignments according to property-specific checklists and company quality standards.
- Clean kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms and communal areas to a high standard.
- Make beds and change linen and towels where required.
- Ensure properties are appropriately presented and ready for incoming guests.
- Identify and report damages, maintenance concerns, missing items or unusual conditions within a property.
- Complete required quality-assurance checks and provide completion photographs where requested.
- Maintain clear communication with the operations team regarding arrival, progress and completion of cleans.
- Attend accepted cleaning assignments punctually and complete them within the allocated turnaround period.
- Notify the team promptly if any issue could affect the successful completion of a clean.
- Travel to different short-let properties within the assigned service area as required.
- Handle client properties, keys and access information responsibly and confidentially.
- Follow all relevant health, safety and cleaning procedures.
How the Work is Scheduled
Our cleaning requirements are driven by short-let guest bookings and property turnovers.
This means:
- Cleaning assignments will be offered as they become available.
- Most cleans will take place between guest check-out and the next scheduled check-in.
- Cleaners will normally receive advance notice of available assignments wherever possible.
- You will be expected to confirm whether you are available before being assigned a clean.
- Once you have accepted a cleaning assignment, we expect you to attend and complete it as agreed.
- The volume of available work may vary depending on guest bookings and seasonal demand.
- Weekend and bank-holiday cleans may occasionally be available.
- For cleaners seeking more predictable hours, structured minimum-hour arrangements may be available and can be discussed individually.
Skills & Experience
- Previous cleaning experience is required.
- Experience cleaning Airbnb, short-let, serviced accommodation, holiday-let or hotel properties is highly desirable.
- Strong attention to detail and an understanding of the presentation standards expected in guest accommodation.
- Good spoken and written English.
- Reliable and professional communication.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Ability to complete property turnovers within specified timeframes without compromising quality.
- Strong customer-service awareness and professional behaviour when interacting with clients, guests or property managers.
- Ability to identify and report cleaning, maintenance or property issues.
- Ability to adapt when cleaning requirements or property conditions change unexpectedly.
- Access to reliable transport is desirable, particularly where travelling between multiple properties.
Pay
- 21 & over – £13.00 per hour
- 18–20 – £11.00 per hour
- Under 18 – £9.00 per hour
Any structured minimum-hour arrangement will be discussed separately with the successful applicant and agreed based on availability and operational requirements.
