Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated HGV Class 1 Driver tramper to join our logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating large tippers on long-distance journeys, primarily focusing on delivering goods to various locations while maintaining the highest standards of safety and efficiency. Duties
- Safely operate HGV Class 1 trucks with trailers across national and regional routes, adhering strictly to road safety regulations and company policies
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in optimal condition for each journey
- Secure loads properly on flatbed trailers, ensuring stability and compliance with weight distribution regulations
- Plan efficient routes to meet delivery schedules while managing driving hours in accordance with legal requirements
- Complete all necessary documentation accurately, including delivery logs, tachograph records, and load sheets
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery statuses, delays, or any issues encountered during transit
- Maintain a professional attitude at all times, representing the company positively during customer interactions and deliveries
Experience
- Proven experience as a commercial driver with a focus on tipper work or general freight transportation
- Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) license with a clean driving record
- Demonstrable experience in driving long-distance routes and managing delivery schedules efficiently
- Knowledge of road safety regulations, tachograph compliance, and load securing procedures
- Prior experience with delivery driver roles involving heavy goods transportation is highly desirable
- Familiarity with handling loads and securing cargo using appropriate restraints and equipment
