Due to continued growth, we are looking for experienced and motivated HGV Drum Mixer Drivers and HGV Artic Drivers to join our expanding operation. If you are a professional driver who values safety, customer service, and taking pride in your work, we'd like to hear from you.
The Role
As an HGV Drum Mixer or Artic Driver, you will play a key role in our daily operations, delivering concrete and aggregates safely, efficiently, and on time to construction sites and commercial customers throughout the region.
You will be responsible for operating company vehicles to the highest standards, carrying out daily safety checks, maintaining accurate records, and representing Payne Concrete & Aggregates in a professional manner at all times.

Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate HGV Drum Mixer and Articulated vehicles in accordance with company procedures and road traffic legislation.
- Deliver ready-mix concrete, aggregates, and other construction materials to customer locations.
- Produce and discharge concrete safely and accurately where required.
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections and complete all defect reporting procedures.
- Complete delivery notes, tachograph records, and other paperwork accurately.
- Keep vehicles and equipment clean, presentable, and well maintained.
- Liaise professionally with customers, site managers, and office staff.
- Adhere to all health and safety policies and site-specific requirements.
- Report vehicle defects, incidents, delays, or operational issues promptly.
- Maintain excellent customer service standards and represent the company positively at all times.
- Assist with loading and unloading operations where required.
RequirementsEssential
- HGV Class 2 (Category C) Licence for Drum Mixer Drivers.
- HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) Licence for Artic Drivers.
- Valid Driver CPC Qualification.
- Valid Digital Tachograph Card.
- Good understanding of construction site safety procedures.
- Strong work ethic with a reliable and professional attitude.
- Ability to work independently and take responsibility for vehicle and load safety.
Desirable
- Previous Drum Mixer experience.
- Experience delivering concrete, aggregates, or construction materials.
- Knowledge of volumetric or ready-mix concrete operations.
- Experience working on construction sites.
Training can be provided for the right candidate with the appropriate licence and attitude.
