About the Role
As a Senior Support Worker, you’ll combine hands-on care with leadership responsibility. You’ll support adults with learning disabilities in their home and community life—while also guiding your team, organising shifts, and ensuring high-quality, person-centred support at all times.
You’ll be trusted to step up, take initiative, and help create a safe, empowering environment where everyone can thrive.
What You’ll Be Doing
Support & Care
- Provide personal, practical, and emotional support with dignity and respect
- Assist with daily living tasks including personal care, meals, and medication
- Empower individuals to achieve independence, goals, and meaningful outcomes
Leadership & Team Support
- Lead shifts, plan daily activities, and delegate responsibilities
- Mentor Support Workers and volunteers, providing supervision, guidance and feedback
- Conduct handovers, team meetings and ensure clear, effective communication is had at all times.
Quality & Compliance
- Maintain accurate records, care plans, and reports
- Ensure compliance with CQC standards and health & safety procedures
- Support risk assessments, audits, and safe working practices
- Medication management (ordering, returning, auditing of medication)
Community & Engagement
- Encourage participation in social, leisure, and community activities
- Support holidays, appointments, and off-site trips (driving required)
- Promote inclusion, choice, and active involvement in home life
Advocacy & Rights
- Uphold dignity, privacy, and independence at all times
- Apply knowledge of MCA and best-interest decision making
- Ensure every individual has a voice and is heard
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in health & social care, ideally in a senior or supervisory role
- A confident, compassionate leader and team player
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Commitment to person-centred values and inclusive support
- Flexibility to work shifts (including evenings, weekends, and occasional sleep-ins)
- Flexibility to be part of the Responsible Person Rota
- Ability to drive (preferred due to rural location)
