Duties
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks under the supervision of chefs, including washing vegetables, peeling, and portioning ingredients
- Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas by washing dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and cleaning work surfaces regularly
- Support the organization of storage areas by rotating stock and ensuring ingredients are stored correctly to prevent spoilage
- Help with waste disposal and recycling procedures to uphold health and safety standards
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is clean, functional, and stored properly after use
- Assist with setting up dining areas or service stations as needed for meal service
- Follow health and safety guidelines diligently to maintain a hygienic environment at all times
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment is preferred but not essential; a willingness to learn is key
- Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations
- Strong understanding of hygiene standards and safety procedures in a culinary setting
