Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented MOT Tester to join our automotive service team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting vehicle safety inspections in accordance with legal standards and company policies. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough MOT tests on a wide range of vehicles, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and safety standards.
- Inspect vehicle components such as brakes, tyres, lights, suspension, and exhaust systems.
- Accurately record inspection results and communicate findings clearly to customers or management.
- Identify any defects or issues that require repair or further investigation.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all inspections performed in accordance with company procedures.
- Ensure all testing equipment is calibrated and maintained properly.
- Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations during all inspection procedures.
- Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of the testing bay and workshop area.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with an understanding of vehicle systems and components.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and specialised testing equipment.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling vehicle parts or equipment.
- Excellent attention to detail to identify potential safety issues accurately.
- Good organisational skills to manage multiple inspections efficiently.
- Effective communication skills for explaining inspection outcomes clearly to colleagues or customers.
- Relevant MOT testing qualification recognised by the DVSA (or willingness to obtain certification).
