Overview
We are seeking a passionate and engaging Early Years Football Coach to inspire children aged 18 months to 6 years through the exciting world of football. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity to develop coaching skills within a supportive environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering fun, safe, and educational football sessions tailored to young children, fostering their physical development and love for sport. A background in sports coaching and teaching is highly desirable, along with a genuine enthusiasm for working with young children.
Duties
- Plan and deliver age-appropriate football sessions that promote physical activity, coordination, and teamwork
- Create a positive and inclusive environment that encourages children’s participation and enjoyment
- Ensure all activities are conducted safely, adhering to health and safety guidelines
- Support children’s social and emotional development through engaging coaching methods
- Communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding session progress and behaviour
- Maintain organised session plans and equipment preparation prior to each class
- Monitor individual children's development and provide feedback where appropriate
- Uphold high standards of behaviour management, promoting respect and sportsmanship among participants
Experience - not needed but preferred in:
- Previous sports coaching experience, particularly in early childhood settings, is preferred
- Teaching experience or background working with young children is highly advantageous
- Knowledge of child development principles relevant to the 18 months to 6 years age group
- Ability to motivate young children and foster a fun learning environment
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan engaging sessions
- Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with parents, guardians, and team members
- Enthusiasm for football and a commitment to promoting active lifestyles from an early age
Pay: £12.80-£14.00 per hour
