Roslea Surgery is an ever expanding and training, 6 doctor GP practice in the heart of Bamber Bridge. You will be joining a well-established administration team who pride themselves on working collaboratively to provide excellent administrative support to the wider practice.
Main Duties
The successful candidate will:
- Provide comprehensive administrative and secretarial support to GPs and the wider clinical team.
- Process referrals using the NHS Electronic Referral Service (e-RS).
- Type and process clinical correspondence, referral letters, and reports.
- Manage incoming hospital letters and clinical documents using the practice's clinical system.
- Register new patients in accordance with NHS and practice policies.
- Process GP2GP electronic transfer requests, ensuring patients' electronic medical records are received, reconciled, and accurately integrated into the clinical system.
- Process deductions and patient record transfers in line with NHS registration procedures.
- Ensure patient demographic information is accurate and up to date.
- Answer telephone calls and respond to patient and healthcare professional enquiries professionally.
- Liaise with hospitals, community services, and external agencies regarding patient referrals and appointments.
- Maintain accurate patient records while ensuring confidentiality is upheld.
- Support document management, scanning, filing, and workflow administration.
- Assist with general office duties and provide cover for other administrative staff when required.
- Contribute to the smooth and efficient running of the practice by undertaking additional administrative duties appropriate to the role.
Person Specification
Essential
- Previous administrative experience.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Ability to prioritise workload in a busy environment.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Professional and courteous manner.
- Understanding of confidentiality and data protection.
Desirable
- Previous experience working within a GP practice or NHS setting.
- Experience using EMIS Web
- Experience processing patient registrations, deductions, and GP2GP electronic record transfers.
- Knowledge of NHS Electronic Referral Service (e-RS).
- Medical terminology knowledge.
