Job Summary
Are you a talented chef with a passion for creating delicious food in a lively, fast-paced environment? Exeter Court Hotel, a popular hotel on the edge of Exeter, is looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated chef to join our small, friendly team. Our kitchen can serve over 100 breakfasts, light lunches, traditional evening meals, conference buffets, and caters for a variety of functions, including parties and wedding breakfasts.
This role offers a variety of shifts, working 40 hours per week over 5 days, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and bank holidays. Most shifts are 8 hours, though occasional split shifts may be needed.
Responsibilities
* Take charge of the kitchen team when required, encouraging teamwork and a hands-on leadership style in the Head Chef’s absence.
* Work confidently both independently and as part of our supportive team.
* Prepare dishes to the Head Chef’s high standards, delivering consistent quality every time.
* Organise your work effectively to ensure meals are prepared and served on time.
* Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic kitchen at all times.
* Use kitchen equipment correctly and safely, reporting any faults immediately.
* Follow company procedures and processes to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
* Collaborate with the Food & Beverage team to deliver an exceptional dining experience.
* Handle diner and client feedback professionally and quickly.
Requirements
· Experience as a Chef, ideally in a fast-paced hotel or similar setting.
· Excellent communication and leadership skills.
· Strong organisational and time management abilities.
· Food Safety Level 2 Certificate and Allergens Certificate (required).
· Reliable, punctual, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
· Flexibility to work weekdays, weekends, and bank holidays.
· Willingness to work mostly straight 8-hour shifts, with occasional split shifts as needed.
* Own transport is essential due to the hotel’s location.

Pay: £31,500.00 per year
