For more than 60 years, David Austin Roses has been growing and breeding roses in Albrighton, Shropshire, guided by the same care, patience and attention to detail that have defined the business since it was founded in 1961.
Today, we sell to gardeners and growers around the world, both directly and through our trade and wholesale partners. We remain a family business, now in our third generation, and the same care that goes into breeding a rose goes into everything else we do.
Our offices sit within the nursery, among growing fields, breeding greenhouses, walled rose gardens and the original family farmhouse. It is a place where horticulture, craftsmanship and innovation come together every day.
From Rose Breeding and Production to Digital, Marketing, Customer Services and Visitor Centre team, every person plays an important role in helping our business continue to grow. Many of the people who work here have been with us for years, some for decades, and we are proud of the knowledge, passion and experience they bring.

We're interested in practical people with a positive attitude and a mechanical mindset. We value experience and problem-solving ability and a willingness to learn just as much as formal qualifications.
You'll have experience in some of the following:
- Maintenance, repair, servicing or installation work in an engineering, manufacturing or similar practical environment.
- Diagnosing mechanical faults and finding effective, practical solutions.
- Safely using hand tools, power tools and workshop equipment.
- Maintaining, repairing or improving machinery and production equipment.
- Plant maintenance.
- Basic pneumatics.
- Working independently while also contributing as part of a small, supportive team.
It would be an advantage if you also have:
- Welding and fabrication skills.
- Vehicle maintenance experience.
- A forklift licence (although training can be provided).
- Full UK driving licence.
- A practical, hands-on approach with excellent problem-solving skills.
- A willingness to learn new equipment, technologies and ways of working.
Relevant engineering, maintenance or trade qualifications are welcome but not essential. We recognise that practical experience and transferable skills are equally valuable.
You'll be joining a well-established, respected business where your skills genuinely make a difference. We invest in our people, encourage continuous learning and offer the opportunity to develop a long-term career in a supportive team environment.
If you enjoy solving problems, working with machinery and taking ownership of your work, we'd love to hear from you.
At David Austin Roses, we believe that different experiences, perspectives and ideas make us stronger. As a family-owned business, we are committed to creating a workplace where people feel welcomed, valued and supported to thrive.
We welcome applications from people from all backgrounds and assess every application fairly, based on the skills, experience and potential needed to succeed in the role.
