Role Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Technical Manager to manage the Technical function at our Wincanton Packaging and Distribution site. In this role, you will lead the team to achieve their objectives to meet and surpass regulatory and customer requirements, whilst also supporting the Group Technical Manager in business-wide food safety and quality developments.
The Site Technical Manager will report directly to the Group Technical Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the food safety, quality and legality systems across the site
- Coach and develop the Site Technical Team and monitor performance
- Promote a strong food safety culture across the site.
- HACCP, VACCP and TACCP team leader for the site.
- Drive and maintain site compliance to certification requirements, customer codes of practice, BRCGS requirements and export legislation.
- Work with the Site Management Team on all projects to ensure technical compliance.
- Lead the site technical function during customer audits, visits and regulatory inspections.
- Develop and review site technical KPIs, in line with the business objectives, and create a framework for continuous improvement.
- Manage the supplier and traded goods approval system and monitor performance.
- Explore innovative ways of driving improved site performance.
- Product Specification generation and control.
- Support the wider Technical function across Wyke Farms.
- As required assist with projects across the Wyke Farms business.
Qualification, Skills and Experience:
- Strong background in food technical management.
- Proven track record in managing technical teams.
- Demonstrable audit leadership experience.
- Strong communication, organisation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong understanding of quality systems, food safety standards, and regulatory compliance.
